Help Chris Row for the River!

There is a place where the water is powerful and seems never ending, where the wind tells ancient stories and the trees bound together protect the land. There is a place where the ospreys and eagles hunt and geese and their babies roam the shoreline winding their way in and out of sloughs, where egrets make their nests high in the tops of pine trees and where you can listen to the voice of these prehistoric birds. There is a place with some of the greatest biodiversity in the country and there is a place where all of this is threatened by the development of a graphite mine.
On May 19, 2026; 75 years after my family became the caretakers of our piece of land on Lake Mitchell; I am going to row from Lay Dam to Mitchell Dam to raise awareness that the Coosa River matters, the people, the creatures, the plants all matter. This place needs protection for generations that will come after us and for the people and creatures that are here now.
